Assessment and Reporting

Parents will be advised of their child’s progress in both formal and informal situations. Teachers will prepare two formal reports each year – a semester one report (half yearly) in June and a Semester two report (yearly) in December.

Formal parent/teacher interviews will be held during terms 1 and 3. Notes will be sent home with your child with details outlining times and dates that class teachers will be available to speak with parents and guardians about student progress. Interpreters will be available if required.

Parents and guardians are most welcome to make appointments with their child’s teacher at any time throughout the year to discuss their son/daughter’s progress in class.

Years 3 and 5 students will also sit the NAPLAN testing in May. These tests are a nationwide assessment program. Reports will be sent to parents in Term 3 regarding these assessments.

Kindergarten students are assessed at the very commencement of their education in the early weeks of Term 1. Parents are presented with these initial reports in term 1 after they are all complete.
